Uniquely custom arrangements for special events and everyday occasions. Created in Homer, Alaska by floral artist Kristen Buckwalter.
It all started when I was 18, I took a career test and it suggested I go into law enforcement or floral design.. I choose a career in flowers and I’ve never looked back! I went to Phil Rulloda’s master design school in Arizona and got certified when I was 18. I have been designing and working in the floral industry for the past 25 years with a large focus on custom weddings and special events. I worked for a big corporation for 13 years, most of those years as a floral manager in multiple locations and I managed some of the largest sales in the nation for floral departments. I always said it was my business school and because of the volume I got a vast understanding of the floral industry.
My heart has always been to bring my gifts and my experience to Homer, never loosing sight of my dream of opening my own floral shop all these years. I was a entrepreneur at heart always! January 2022 the dream came to life as I felt a nudge and peace that it’s time! This is a family affair all the way and side note: my 5 year old Andrew named our business Flower Towne.
I am passionate about a non toxic floral shop as I have a serious allergy to the insecticides sprayed so heavily on imported lower quality roses and I’m all about supporting American flower farmers (I am a dahlia farmer too) as 80 % of flowers are imported I am committed to responsibly sourcing as much as I can domestically, I can’t do 100% domestic but I’ll do my best! I will be ordering from our Homer Flower Farmers all summer first before I source anywhere else.
My heart is to serve my hometown through making your days a little brighter and more colorful through my designs. I have partnered with Joelle at the art shop gallery and I have flowers available all week for you to choose from. I also do full service custom weddings and any special event really. Thanks Homer for your support! I sure feel it and I think this is going to be a long career of serving and connecting with you all!
